Meet the 2026 President of the Royal Manx Agricultural Society

As preparations continue for the 2026 Royal Manx Agricultural Show, we caught up with this year’s President, Lee Cain to learn more about his farming background, his long-standing involvement with the Show, and what it means to lead the Society during such a significant year as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of being granted Royal status. From life on the family farm at Trollaby to his message of thanks for the volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors and supporters who make the Show possible, here’s what he had to say:

Q: Could you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi, I am Lee Cain and I have farmed at Trollaby Farm, Union Mills for 38 years. Having bought the farm in 2021, it is now our family home.Alongside running the farm, I work full-time for Manx Utilities, where I have worked for 24 years. I have been married to Sarah for 32 years and we have two children, Elle and Tom.

I am honoured to be President of the Royal Manx Agricultural Show for 2026, our 75th year of being the Royal Show

Q: Have you ever showed at the Show?
Yes, I first showed at the Show when it was held at Sulby with Texel sheep, but in more recent years I have been showing cattle from our Limousin herd, FoxRock Limousins.

Q: Is there anyone you would like to thank?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who makes the Show happen – our volunteers, the exhibitors and our sponsors, particularly Conister Bank, our lead sponsor.

I would also like to thank my friends and family for their support in helping make the 2026 Show one to remember.
